AED is proud to welcome Lara Wollington as an AED Ambassador, marking a powerful full-circle moment as she steps into her first full-time professional role in musical theatre.
Lara is currently touring the UK in Grease, playing the role of Frenchy, following her recent graduation from Arts Educational Schools London, where she trained for four years in Musical Theatre. Lara’s relationship with AED began in 2016, when she danced at AED Competitions with North Star Academy of Dance, establishing a long-standing connection with the organisation from a young age.
During her final year at ArtsEd, AED supported Lara by funding her final year of professional training, enabling her to complete her studies at her dream drama school. Since graduating, Lara has signed with an agent and successfully transitioned into professional work, making her appointment as an AED Ambassador a meaningful milestone for both Lara and the organisation.
Lara’s career began at a young age as a child performer in the West End. Her theatre credits include Shrek the Musical, Matilda the Musical – where she played the title role of Matilda – Gypsy, and The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾. Alongside her stage work, Lara has voiced characters in well-loved children’s television series including 64 Zoo Lane and Wanda and the Alien.
In addition to her performance career, Lara is deeply committed to working with children and young people. She has taught and cared for children from three months and up across London for over five years and joined Peace & Riot in 2024, where she teaches classes, nannies, and provides specialist childcare – work that continues to hold a very special place in her heart.
As an AED Ambassador, Lara will support future students, attend events, and contribute to alumni and outreach initiatives, while continuing to build her professional career. Her journey reflects the long-term impact of access to training, sustained support, and investment in creative potential.
AED is delighted to have Lara represent the organisation as an Ambassador and looks forward to supporting her continued success.
