News

AED was saddened to learn that our esteemed President Dame Beryl Grey has passed away aged 95.

Dame Beryl was not only one of the countries youngest prima ballerinas, but she also went on to become the artistic director of London Festival Ballet (now English National Ballet) as well as a renowned choreographer and author.

Beryl remained interested and committed to the work of AED and was very much looking forward to joining us at The London Coliseum in April 2023 when we celebrate our centenary.

We will miss her, but her spirit and love of dance, her legacy, will shine through our performers.
